BIOGRAPHY
I was born in Lévis, a city nearby Quebec City, in Quebec, Canada. Even when I was a kid, I always had a strong interest in business and engineering. I would also say that when I grow up I want to be an inventor. It's only at 15 years old that I discovered that this was called an engineer and more specifically for my interests, I wanted to be a mechanical engineer. During that period of my life, I was trying to draw machines, I would invent simple devices solving everyday problems and sometimes trying to market them. The first attempt was at 16 years old with a friend of mine.
At 17 I got my first car, a Nissan NX2000 1992. I fell in love with it and started modifying it in 2003, even though I knew close to nothing about cars. During that time I was also buying a good amount of spare parts in Canada that would sell to Americans and making decent profit by taking advantage of the exchange rate.
In 2003 I join the University of Sherbrooke, also in Quebec, Canada. This is where all the primitive drawings and spec sheets have gotten a lot more serious. Learning to draw with a CAD program in 3D made a big improvement on my concepts and understanding.
I started working in 2008 for SNC-Lavalin in Montreal, Canada and shortly after, they moved me on the construction site of the project I was working on in Algiers, Algeria. This was my first experience as an expat and I absolutely loved being in a complete unknown environment and learning my way through it.
I then worked as a general manager and director of R&D for TWM Performance in late 2009, where I had done an internship in 2005. Being able to manage a whole company at 25 was a very interesting challenge through which I learned a lot.
In 2011 I realized I really liked the mix of engineering and management, but I needed stronger management skills, so I decided to sign up and go get an MBA.
